Over the years we have learned that yearly service and inspection of your Wastewater Treatment System is the key to maximizing the life of your septic system network.  Yearly maintenance and proper use of the system will prevent a system’s failure and ensure longevity. 

Some useful tips that will help to ensure proper function of your septic system.

 
 
Pump and Inspect Frequently -
  • You should have a typical septic system inspected at least every 3 years by a professional and your tank pumped as recommended by the inspector (generally every 3 to 5 years)

 

Watch your drains - What goes down the drain can have a major impact on how well your septic system works.

    • Your septic system is not a waste disposal.  Flushing household chemicals, gasoline, oil, pesticides, antifreeze and paint can stree or destroy the biological treatment taking place in the system.

 

Water Conservation - Use water wisely all around the house. The conservation of water is essential to the overall system function.

    • Install water saving devices such as shower heads and toilets.
    • Repair leaky faucets and tiolets immediately.
    • Don't run water or flush toilets needlessly.
    • Be sure dishwashers and clothes washers have full loads before running.
